Second 24ft High Tribute to NHS Revealed in Southport Town Centre

The second and final tribute to the NHS has been installed on Charlotte House, featuring some of the amazing staff and services involved in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The piece has been installed on the opposite side of the building to the tribute to Sir Captain Tom Moore, revealed the weekend prior. The pieces were both commissioned by Directors Mark Cunningham, Lyn Cunningham and Jacqui Holt to be installed on Anthony James' offices in the Southport Town Centre and after many months of hard work and logistical planning both the 24ft high tributes are finished. The huge works have been painstakingly produced over the last few months by talented local artist Rob Newbiggin.

Mark said: “These paintings are huge. They have been a logistical challenge to put together!

“We wanted to do something that shows our appreciation for the NHS and for Captain Sir Tom Moore, who have inspired the whole nation with what they have done this year.”

Mark, Lyn and Jacqui wanted to create a very visible way of saying thank you to Captain Sir Tom Moore and to the amazing NHS staff who have done so much to save lives during this devastating Coronavirus pandemic. The works will stand tall in the Town Centre for the next 6 months as a reminder of our thanks and symbol of hope for our local community, before being auctioned off to raise money for the NHS.
